In this paper, the impact of energy efficient materials i.e. clay flyash brick, flyash sand lime brick and autoclaved aerated concrete blocks, on heating and cooling load of a building has been analyzed. A building measuring 4m × 4m × 3m with a window in south wall having size 2.5m × 1m has been taken. Building simulation software TRNSYS has been used to compute the heating and cooling load of the building. It has been found that autoclaved aerated concrete block wall performs best if the building is insulated for composite climate of India. If the insulation is added to the walls then flyash sand lime brick wall gives the better results.
