Impact of lead-time and error in estimation of demand on apparel retailing: utilization of arm software program

摘要

This study investigated apparel retailers' inventory management through utilization of advanced technology to accomplish philo-sophical aspects of QR--reduction of time in the softgood pipeline and consumer responsiveness. Information about specific inventory changes is needed to aid retailers in the exact selection of QR activites. The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of utilization of computer-aided inventory management on selected financial measures using the ARM program developed at N.C. State University by the Dept. of Textile and Apparel Management and Industrial Engineering.
