摘要

A M-cell targeted biodegradable nanoparticuiate vaccine formulation containing a model protein antigen was developed and evaluated. Chitosan-Dextran sulphate (CS-DS) nanoparticles were modified and optimised for incorporation of the model protein antigen (detoxified pertussis toxin) and a M-cell targeting ligand (immunoglobulin-A) for intranasal vaccine delivery. The in-vitro and in-vivo evaluation of optimized nanoparticle formulation indicated the potential significance of using immunoglobulin-A (IgA) as a M-cell targeting ligand for particulate vaccine delivery systems through the nasal route.
