Research on Pollution by Heavy Metals in Bottom Sediments of Kuihe River of Xuzhou

摘要

Heavy metals in waste water may pollute the bottom sediments by various chemical and physical actions. So the heavy metal pollution in bottom sediment of Kuihe River is studied. Pollution of heavy metals is assessed using Geo-accumulation index and potential ecological risk index. The results show that the bottom sediment of Kuihe River is polluted seriously by heavy metals, especially by Hg. The main elements which cause ecological hazard are Hg and Cd.
