Human Factors Integration (HFI) broadens ergonomics and focuses on the analyses and tradeoffs among the various HFI domains. HFI, as part of systems engineering, is critical in successful delivery of complex systems. Systems engineers use architecture frameworks as a systematic method for representing complex systems. Architecture frameworks fail to capture the human-centered design aspects needed to ensure the total system effectiveness. By adding a Human View to the other architecture framework views, it can be used to provide an understanding of the human role in systems/enterprise architectures. The objective of this current analysis was to explore the dynamic aspects of the Human View as an effective methodology for HFI practitioners coordinating and collaborating with systems engineers. Data from a system development effort was used to build various Human Views. Modeling and simulation were used to analyze the dynamic operator elements of the system and to augment the Human View process. The analysis results demonstrated that Human View data, when combined with modeling and simulation tools, can be used to assess design impacts and provide systems engineers the architecture information needed for complex system design, development, testing, and production.
