The buckling strength of thin compositernpolygonal plate arrays are evaluated forrncombinations of uniform in-planerncompression and shear loading andrnpresented in the form of dimensionlessrnbuckling interaction curves. The two keyrnstudied parameters are the skew angle,rndefining the geometry of the distortedrnhexagonal arrays, and ply lay-up of thernspecially orthotropic composite laminates.rnThe investigation considers planformrngeometry together with the physicalrncontinuity of flat panel arrays, illustratingrnhow these factors lead to improvements inrnbuckling strength, especially whenrncombined with the advantages of compositerntailoring.
