The world's steadily growing energy needs combined with increasing requirements on machines andrndrive systems in terms of economical use of resources and protection of the environment demandrninnovative technologies for running such systems. Power and efficiency are the main parameters ofrnmachines and drive systems. Driven by the need to increase efficiency and by international emissionrnregulations, highly accurate and reliable torque measurement in both test bench applications and thernmonitoring of ships at sea are of high interest to ship’s engine (marine) technology.
