A Prc-fcasibility study for the renewal of the Orco Valley hydropower plants (Turin Province, NW Italy), owned by AEM Torino S.p.A., is presented. This work stresses the advantages of a field study based upon modern structural analysis, in contrast to the common trend to rely almost exclusively on preliminary borehole campaigns.
