We have observed tropospheric aerosols and water vapor over Tokyo, Japan with a multi-wavelength Mie-Raman lidar recently. The wavelength dependence of backscatter and extinction coefficients, and lidar ratio of aerosol is found to be useful in characterizing the aerosols as well as the particle depolarization ratio (PDR). Asian dust layer which has a PDR more than 20 % shows a less wavelength dependence of backscatter and extinction coefficients. The lidar ratio at 355 nm is nearly equal to or somewhat higher than that at 532 nm.
