Towards sound assessment and improvement of robustness of structures: Treatment of structural robustness in European standards

摘要

Arational approach for establishing a sound procedure for the assessment of structural robustnessrnand thereby achieving improvement in robustness levels in structures is first presented in this paper. Next, arnscheme of categorisation is proposed for the classification of robustness related provisions in codes and standards.rnUsing this scheme, a systematic and differentiated mapping of the treatment of robustness in European standardsrnis obtained. Also a viable platform for the establishment of improved or optimal provisions for robustness inrnstructures is made available through this categorization.
