摘要

This paper reviews the research about the relationship between local and global ductility demand, and introduces the peak r ductility provisions of structural element in ultimate limit state de -termined in European seismic code ,EC8,and New Zealand r seismic code ,NZS 1170. 5. It is found that previous researches are mainly focused on the steel or reinforced concrete moment r resistance frame. Different design codes carry out different design philosophy and peak element ductility stand -ard. r European design code and New Zealand design code clearly indicate the relationship between element ductility and required r overall ductility of the structure. No peak element ductility relative to structural system ductility is defined In Chinese r seismic design provisions.
