Research of Pure UHMWPE Pipe Molding in Barrel Technology and Analysisof Pipe Properties

Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) is a kind of thermoplasticrnengineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties which structurernbehaves linearly. Because of super high molecular weight, it has a series ofrnoutstanding properties with which no other types of plastic can compare. Thernmethod of molding in barrel is a new technology of pure UHMW-PE piperncontinuous extrusion which overcomes the difficulties of pure UHMW-PE pipernmolding. This article will introduce the main features of this technology. Inrnaccordance with relevant national standards, Pipe specimens are tested forrnproperties analysis to provide valuable reference data for the engineeringrnapplication of pure UHMWPE pipe. The test specimens are made from M-IIIrnUHMW-PE and GUR? UHMW-PE which are produced by Beijing Oriental OilrnCo., Ltd. and TICONA.
