The strengthening of reinforced concrete structures by steel plate bonding has been done since 1970. Sika AG has developed and tested the new strengthening system Sika CarboDur. Thanks to the economical applications and the easy handling, more than two hundred projects have been carried out in the last two years.rnThis presentation will contain the quality requirement of the CFRP-strips and the epoxy adhesive as well as the underground preparation. Typical structures strengthened will be presented as case studies to demonstrate the outstanding advantage of this strengthening method with special focus on the application and quality control.
