Interference from artificial light sources can significantly degrade performance in nondirected indoor infrared (IR) communication systems. A common method of mitigation is to employ high pass filtering (HPF). However, in base band modulation schemes this technique induces a type of inter-symbol interference known as baseline wander. This paper considers the effect of baseline wander on a Wavelet-AI based receiver employed in a distortion free IR channel for 100 Mbps system. The results are compared with those obtained from a more traditional receiver structure employing a match filter.
