Today, equipments and facilities are composed of many complex high-tech components or parts. Because of this trend, the frequency of failures is decreasing, but a failure of a component could be critical to whole system. Therefore, the failure analysis about many complex components or parts is needed. In the former research about Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), failure rate data of similar facilities have been used for forecasting about target system or components. There are problems in using FTA with incomplete failure data. Income failure data can occur when system or components are newly developed or failure data has been destroyed or collected. Therefore, in this study Fuzzy FTA has been explored to overcome missing failure rate information.
