摘要

We developed an oligomeric polyfunctional α-hydroxyketone photoinitiator (Esacure KIP 150) that overcomes most of the drawbacks of the monomeric α-hydroxyketones. Esacure KIP 150 is more reactive than the monomeric a-hydroxyketones in different acrylic systems and it has good non-yellowing properties. One of its main characteristics is the low release from the cured formulation: both as migration of the photoinitiator itself and as release of volatile photodecomposition products. This characteristic accounts for the low odour developed in the curing process and makes the photoinitiator suitable for all the applications in which migration is a critical issue. The physico-chemical characteristics of Esacure KIP 150 are very favourable for its use in water-borne formulation: for this purposes a stable and easily incorporable emulsion has been prepared.
