摘要

Experiments and numerical modeling of the sintering stage in metal injection molding are presented. The modeling uses the volume fraction of metallic powder as major initial data. As 20% of size shrinkage may be reached, a large strain formulation is employed. A non linear viscous law allows to determine the density and shape evolution under a prescribed temperature variation. This modeling takes into account both surface and volume diffusion phenomena. The results get from numerical modeling are compared with experiments the agreement is very good.
