The paper studies the Implementation of a general purposed digital adaptive beam former, which provide overall system integration and high flexibility, owe the technology of Reconfiguration. The adaptive algorithm is RMGSEF, which was proposed by F.Ling et al, and it has good property for convergence and less sensitive to roundoff errors. The algorithm can be directly mapped into Systolic Array, which highly modular structure is very suited for implementation by VLSI. The programmable nature of FPGA-based parallel systems allows great flexibility, and promises massive fine-grain parallelism and high throughput. Such an adaptive beam former is suited audio frequency system such as hearing aid or under water communication.
