Atmospheric bubbling fluidized-bed combustion of a coal was performed at 1120 K simulating a flue-gas recycling combustion, in which the rates of coal combustion and oxygen consumption are operating variables varying with the recycle ratio of combustor-exit gas. The experimental results demonstrate: (1) The in-bed reductive decomposition of recycled NO and N_2O obey first order kinetics and the rate constants increase linearly with the rate of in-bed oxygen consumption; (2) the rate of oxygen consumption also affects the once-through conversion of fuel-N into N_2O having little influence on that into NO_x.
