C. albicans is the most virulent strain of Candida and causes human candidasis in the immunocompromised host. c.albicans is a dimorphic fungus, which undergoes a transition from the yeast form to hyphal form depending on the growth condition. The ability to form hyphae is generally considered as an important virulence factor. In most c.albicans infections in the patient, C.albicans form hyphal cells. Herein, we examined why hyphal formation occurs in patients.
