SARA SUI - SERVICE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT UNDER THE ASPECT OF LIFECYCLE COSTS

The last decade changes the world of automation. In the early 90s the first Manufacturing Execution Systems occur. MES defines systems that integrate a company's customer interfaces (SCM, SSM), Enterprise Resources Planing (ERP) Products/Process Engineering (P/PE) an Automation (Controls) with the eleven functions (honeycomb model) of MES. With this along goes the standardization of interfaces like OPC (OLE for Process Control). MES Systems may deploy one or all of these functions. In the matter discussed here we combine the ,,honeycombs" Document Control and Maintenance Management to develop the service software SARA~(~R) SUI. We hear about motivation of SUI and its integration into the value-added chain. In operation SUI focuses on a systematic fault clearance, which makes run again the core value-adding processes of a manufacturer -the production processes. SUI helps esp. at system development, ramp-up and in operation. We discuss actual provider-client service models and general benefits from SUI.
