EAF Meltshop with Cobsteel~R and Hot Metal Charging

Integrated steel plants that want to reduce production costs without compromising the steel grade quality of their products can benefit from the unique characteristics of this melting process especially if they are facing limited and weak power supply and have environmental constraints. On the other hand, minimills that want to attack a more profitable high and quality market can think to couple a CONSTEEL~R production unit with a carbon-based DRI/hot metal production process (such as FASTMELT~(TM) for example), FASTEEL process (see Fig. 11) and achieve a similar result.
