PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimal desulfurization agent charge amount while considering the desulfurization efficiency and cost by using a desulfurization model equation excellent in accuracy and maintenance properties.;SOLUTION: In the desulfurization model equation made by a desulfurization model making section 2 set in a desulfurization agent charge amount calculation apparatus 1, the coefficient of a variable concerning the charge amount of at least one of desulfurization agents is a function of a variable concerning the charge amount of at least one of other desulfurization agents. A desulfurization agent charge-relational equation calculation section 4 calculates the desulfurization charge-relational equation on the basis of the desulfurization model equation, and input data such as the sulfur concentration Si in molten iron before charging the desulfurization agent, the aimed sulfur concentration Sf in molten iron after the treatment, and constants. An optimal charge amount extraction section 7 extracts such an optimal input amount of the desulfurization agent as to satisfy the desulfurization model equation and as to optimize the evaluation function of an evaluation function memory section 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
