摘要

The alkali-carbonate reactivity of limestones at Triassic age from Sichuan, China was conducted by use of petrographic examination (ASTM C295), rock cylinder method (ASTM C586), concrete prism method ( CSA A23.2-14A) and concrete microbar method (RILEM AAR-5), respectively, It is shown that the results by the newly developed concrete microbar method (RILEM AAR-5) are to some extent in accordance with the results obtained with the traditional methods. This may establish that the concrete microbar method (RILEM AAR-5) may be suitable to be used as a screening method for evaluating alkali-carbonate reactivity of carbonate aggregates.
