This paper investigates a possible contribution of the soft computing technique to the establishing new models of diversity models. Typically, the concept of the difficulty function which serves as a basis in the standard probabilistic models like Eckhard and Lee (EL) and Littlewood and Miller (LM) models has been re-interpreted in the framework of fuzzy random entities. In the latter, both randomness and fuzziness coexist in the same description. New generalization of EL model will then be examined. Further analogies with the standard EL model are established.
