Further Developments in the Assessment of Risks Around Airports

DNV presented a paper at PSAM4 describing the computer program that had been developed for The Dutch National Institute for Health and Environment (RIVM) to allow efficient assessment of risks around airports. Since then, DNV has used the program to assess risks around a number of UK airports. These studies have been looking at risks to residents, and the likelihood of aircraft impacts affecting major hazard sites. Based on these experiences and feedback from RIVM, a further series of upgrades to the original program have been implemented. This paper describes these studies and the associated upgrades in the software.
