摘要

A concept of space solar power station(SSPS) using solar-pumped solid-state laser is presented. Laser oscillations of disk-type and rod-type Nd/Cr:YAG ceramics pumped by the arc-metal-halide lamp, which has similar spectrum to the solar light, had been observed experimentally for the SSPS feasibility study. The stored energy of the disk-type ceramic was improved to 0.6 J/cm~3 by Cr doping. A high optical-optical conversion efficiency of 38% for the rod-type ceramics was obtained by lamp light pumping.
