Provided is a laser oscillator which is capable of generating laser oscillation by efficiently absorbing sunlight.A solar-pumped laser oscillator wherein the gain medium is Nd-containing B₂O₃-Bi₂O₃ glass. The solar-pumped laser oscillator wherein the gain medium contains Yb. The solar-pumped laser oscillator wherein the matrix glass of the Nd-containing B₂O₃-Bi₂O₃ glass contains 20-65% by mole of B₂O₃ and 10-48% by mole of Bi₂O₃.
