International Space Course: An experiment in Multi Cultural Distant Learning

This paper will describe an innovative space education initiative - an International Space Course, in which junior high school students from Israel, The USA and Turkey took part. The international space course was based on hands-on education projects, excessive e-learning, videoconferences organized and moderated by NASA, and culminated in participation of prominent students from each country in Space Camp Turkey. A major objective of this space curricula is emphasizes on global friendship through space education, multi cultural awareness, and practical research. The international space course was a collaboration of Global Friendship - a California based non-profit organization, Young @ Science, a division of the Weizmann institute of science (A prominent scientific research institute in Israel), in which I teaches space sciences courses, and Space Camp Turkey, licensed with the U.S. Space Camp Foundation.
