Health Monitoring of Composite Structures Using Static and Dynamic End Effects

摘要

The possibility to monitor joints condition or damage in a compositernstructure by using end effects was examined experimentally. Static andrndynamic end effects were measured in both healthy and damaged joints,rnand in cracked plate. It has been found that higher decay length of endrneffects in composites has a beneficial effect in design of structural healthrnmonitoring systems. This in turn, might improve the reliability of loadrnbearing structural components made of composite materials, particularlyrnin airborne structures.
