Continuous Slipform Paving of the Yuanshui Viaduct Deck

摘要

Yuanshui Viaduct is a 1185m long extra-large bridge over the 325 National Highway, the Li-Zhan Railway and the Leizhou Youth Canal, and also the first extra-large bridge in China ever using the slipform paving for bridge deck. Due to its proper configuration of construction equipment, advanced and mature construction technologies, excellent dynamic smoothness with σ<0.9 mm, and comfort of driving, it has been given the 1999 Award of National High-Quality Projects by the Chinese Federation of Trade Unions of Transportation. This paper introduces the configuration of construction equipment, the arrangement of reinforcement-mesh in the bridge deck, the continuous construction technology through the bridge, the problems and the suggestions.
