RESEARCH ON CONCURRENT DESIGN AND IT'S APPLICATION TO PRODUCT DESIGN

摘要

The principles of concurrent engineering and concurrent design are discussed in this paper. Also, the design process of product is divided into design streams based on the analysis of the process. A concept of design milestone is presented here. The redundancy of the process is eliminated and the recurrence of product design is reduced. This thought is employed to the process of product design in order to increase efficiency of product design, shorten time of product development, shorten the market time of new products and increase the products' power of market competition.
