This paper is concerned with FDI for the induction motor. In the first part, the general method of robust residuals generation for polynomial models is briefly presented. In the sequel, this procedure is applied to the induction motor. The obtained residuals depend not only on measured signals (speed, currents and voltages) but also on their derivatives. The estimation of these derivatives is not trivial in practice especially for sinusoidal signals affected by noise. For this reason, we propose a transformation which uses a priori knowledge on the signals that allows to suppress the sinusoidal component in the residual. The last part presents some simulated results.
