摘要

The Ordos Plateau in China is strongly influenced by the desertification. The GIMMS (Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies) Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data from 1981 to 2003 were adopted to investigate the dynamic change of vegetation cover in Ordos Plateau in this article. Also we analyzed the influence of rainfall on vegetation cover in the Ordos Plateau by studying the correlativity between annual rainfall and yearly NDVI. The results show that there is a slight incline trend of the vegetation cover fraction, which is mainly caused by the vegetation restorable measures and the development of agriculture. However, the inter-annual fluctuation of vegetation fraction is mainly determined by the rainfall.
