This paper deals with the effect of the infrared pyrotechnic composition's oxidant component, mass combustion rate and combustion temperature on radiation intensity in 3―5μm and 8―14μm band. The experiment results show that PTFE is an idea oxidant to obtain high infrared (IR) radiation intensity. The mass combustion rate of pyrotechnic composition has direct ratio to radiation intensity. The radiation intensity in short wavelength band (3―5μm) increases greater than that in long wavelength band (8―14μm) as temperature increases.
