Record labels are a brand associated with the marketing of music recordings and videos. The record company in this study was experiencing a high number of incident tickets reported in relation to the Digital Release Planning System, mostly the result of delays in release, reported by the sales team. With digital music, entire recording industry acts in concert. If the product is not available as scheduled on one of the vendor website, consumer may differ to other sources. This is something the labels, vendors, artists and other value added resellers do not want to happen. This paper presents a Sig Sigma case study for Record Label Release Planning. By applying Six Sigma methodology, label users significantly reduced errors within their process and overall results are far reaching. The improvements have resulted in a projected growth of more than $2 million's per year. Service level of application maintains consistently > 95%.
