摘要

A hybrid active-quenching circuit AQC has been developed for the operation of single-photon avalanche diodes SPADs. The basic building block is a dedicated integrated circuit, that includes all the AQC core functions and represents the first basic step towards the monolithic integration of detector and associate electronics. The compact photon-counting module (less than 1cm x 2cm) attains remarkable performance: operation with up to 60V excess bias voltage above breakdown, dead-time of 40ns (i.e., saturated counting rate of 25MHz), high linearity, low power dissipation. The development is of special interest for photon-counting array detectors employed in wavelength-resolved measurements; adaptive optic systems; etc.
