Personal Mobile Information System

Information is arguably the most sought after commodity in today's society. Both companies and individuals rely on it constantly in order to accomplish their daily activities. Advertising agencies, online stores and social networking websites gather as much data they can about their targeted users. The police could also gather information about places prone to criminal activities. When such information is analyzed over time, some patterns are likely to emerge. Given the current advancements in memory size, storage space and processor speed of mobile devices and also based on the above observations we propose a Mobile Information System that will provide the user with information about prominent attractions (restaurants, shopping malls, clubs, etc) in a selected geographic location. The system will also inform the user about the safety aspects in that specific locality based on the crime rate, incidences of theft and other such anomalies happening. The system will be accessible on mobile devices and will enable the users to input and maintain the information.
