A microwave coaxial plasma torch is described. The design differs from conventional versions in that torch produces a large volume of nonequilibrium plasma with a rather high density. Some peculiarities of its applications are discussed. The efficiency of production of nitrogen oxides (NO and NO_2) was determined for different operating conditions of the torch. It is shown that the concentration of produced NO and NO_2 are comparable and amount to several tenth percents.
