China Dust-storm Monitoring Using Meteorological Satellite

Dust-storm is one of the heaviest hazardous weatherrnwhich frequently affects most part of northern China in spring.rnSatellite multi-spectral observations can provide significantrninformation for detecting and quantitative determining thernproperty of dust-storm. An algorithm to monitor dust-stormrnautomatically was developed based on satellite observation.rnThe algorithm utilizes split widows technique and spectralrnclassification technique and also developed a new dust remoternsensing product Infra -red Difference Dust Index (IDDI) proxyrndust-loading dataset using GMS-5.
