Mathematical theory and numerical simulationsrnhave been successfully used to study nonlinearrnbehavior of aircraft structures. In this paper, arnnew approach, based on an expert data miningrnsystem, is developed to investigate the dynamicalrnresponse of an aeroelastic system. Our preliminaryrnstudy indicates that the new method hasrna lot to offer to the dynamics community, andrnit is particularly attractive to analyze the nonlinearrnresponses which are noisy, non-stationary andrnhave high dynamics. Applications of the proposedrntechnique to predict limit cycle oscillationsrnand other nonlinear behaviors of a two-degree-offreedomrnairfoil oscillating in pitch and plunge arernreported.rn1 Introduction
