摘要

The Lagrangian mesh-free particle method takes the advantage of fully Lagrangian formula nature and the fluid particle positions on the surface represent the free surface without special procedures to track and locate the free surface. The moving particle semi-implicit method (MPS) is a mesh-free particle method and has been successfully applied in many hydraulic engineering problems. The MPS has great advantage to model flow with large deformation and fragmentation of geometries and interfaces. In this study, the MPS model is set up to simulate the dam-break flow over a sill. Comparisons have been made with experimental results. It is shown that the model is capable of capturing main features of dam-break flow with deformed free surface.
