Simulation and Optimization of Electric Drive System for Fuel Cell City Bus

Fuel Cell City Bus (FCCB) Program in China started over one year ago as a part of the statern"863" key project which will serve for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The study of thernelectric drive system is an important sub-project of the whole FCCB Program.rnThe specific features directly associated with the drive system, such as the electrical energyrnsupply system, the arrangement of drivetrain, and running under a certain city driving cyclernetc., make it essential to simulate and optimize the electric drive system (including inductivernmotor and controller). Furthermore, some difficulties such as the nonlinearity of componentsrnespecially like the batteries, the strong coupling between separately components and thernvariety of the parameters etc. challenge us to develop the system model.rnIn this paper, we will analyze the parameter sensitivity of the electric drive componentsrnthrough system simulation in the vehicle environment, and offer the optimization methods forrnthe electric drive system. The simulation is based on computer simulation throughrnMATLAB/SIMULINK. Finally the simulation results for the electric drive system will bernvalidated through dynamometer test.
