The method involves determining alignment of a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis of a vehicle relative to a horizontal position and temperature of environment of the vehicle. Operational parameters for a low temperature fuel cell system (1) are adjusted by a control system when the temperature of the environment of the vehicle falls below a predeterminable external temperature value based on a determined deviation degree of the longitudinal and transverse axes of the vehicle from the horizontal position to eliminate sufficient product water from the fuel cell system. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
