The use of footbridge connects two locations with isolation to roads it intercepts. Through footbridges, an uninterrupted flow of traffic is achieved because of its separation with other pathways. Rigidity and toughness of footbridge is critical because structural failure can lead to disaster. The utilization of wireless sensor network consisting of MEMS accelerometer oriented by three wireless sensor nodes detects and enables high-rate acquisition of the vibrations all throughout the structure of the footbridge. The accuracy of the accelerometer has been determined through calibration and compared to the input frequency provided by a function generator. The system will record vibration measurements that will be remotely stored in a cloud-based platform which will be processed by MATLAB. This paper discusses a performance experiment for a wireless sensor node equipped MEMS accelerometer and wireless device for data transmitting which is aiming to implement a wireless sensor network of MEMS accelerometer using tree topology. Performance of the prototype sensor node is investigated through vibration experiments on the said footbridge.
