摘要

A novel design of polarization filter based on photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is proposed in this paper. With the introduce of a gold-coated air hole, the loss of y polarized mode is 2138.34 dB/cm while the loss is very low in x polarization at the wavelength of 1.31 μm. The significant loss in y polarization makes this PCF a good candidate for developing a polarization filter with high performance. When the length of the fiber is 300 μm, the 20 dB bandwidth is 730 nm which is from 1.15 to 1.68 μm. By changing the length of the fiber, different bandwidth will be obtained.
