Management of environmental protection as well as better use of existing resources is a continuous outcome for sustainable growth of industrial development. Technological up-gradation should be in such a way, it should be innocuous and excel economically. The present case study focuses on the introduction of an innovative device in catalytic converter or in intake manifold of an automobile to reduce its harmful emission of HC, NOx, SO2 and CO. The consequences of the introduction of the innovative device have been contemplated. It is perceived that if device placed in intake manifold it will applause more because harmful emission will reduce as well as efficiency of engine also improved. The depletion of fossil fuels is also a momentous concern. The effect of lightweighting the automobiles by the introduction of GFRP device for decreasing its fuel consumption is scrutinized. It can be observed that the weight of the automobile decreases by about 50 Kg with the introduction of GFRP with the cost of the vehicle increasing by about 20000 Rs only.
