Electronic product works in various complicated conditions during the whole life cycle. Predicting environmental worthiness, judging the ability to resist environmental stress and identify failure states are very important to life prediction and health management of the electronic product. In China, the environmental engineering work for electronic product still focuses on environment test, and few researches were carried out in the area of environmental worthiness prediction. On the basis of analyzing the failure mechanisms of electronic product, this paper proposes the process and method of environmental worthiness prediction, and key parts including the digital model establishment, environmental stress analysis, environmental worthiness requirements determination, environment resistance boundary prediction and environmental worthiness prediction are introduced in detail. The results of application show that the proposed prediction method can judge whether the design meet the environmental worthiness requirements or not effectively, and identify the weak design point, thereby providing guidance for the design, usage and support of the electronic product.
