Undertaking the responsibility of student affairs management in universities, university counselors play an important role in assisting and guiding students to achieve their development tasks. It is of great significance to study the influence on the job Performance of competency and responsibility consciousness for strengthening the team management and promoting the job Performance of the university counselors. This study investigates the correlations between the competency, responsibility consciousness and the job performance of the university counselors via the method of questionnaire surveys; it discusses the moderating role on responsibility consciousness by using the Hierarchy Regression Analysis method. The result shows that the university counselor competency has a positive predicting impact on task performance, but no significant prediction on relationship performance. And the responsibility consciousness of the university counselors not only has positive effect on both task performance and relationship performance, but also has moderating effect between competency and both the two performances.
