In the rapidly growing Internet of Things, applications across different businesses are getting wirelessly connected to the internet. The ubiquitous smart devices can generate enormous amount of data which along with real-time analytics can drive unprecedented innovations, trigger new business models and at some point deeply touch the human life. As IoT's start driving mission critical applications, the need to pro-actively monitor and manage their performance-availability-scalability levels becomes paramount. Failure in doing so can lead to a direct impact on business and now to human life as IoT's get increasingly used in healthcare. Monitoring millions of devices generating enormous amount of data is a huge challenge but one which needs to be addressed soon. What are the challenges in building monitoring solutions for such hyper connected IoT systems? The paper discusses some of the key constraints and challenges that must be considered.
